Access is slow via doclink to second building in office complex

I work for a company that has two buildings. In mine, we have the AS/400 Domino server. I made an application that requires the creation of a doclink in a Notes inbox to access the database. The people in my building can access quickly the info by the doclink, but the people in the other building can't. The access is too slow. Can you give me a recommendation, please? Thank you.
I am assuming from the information provided that you only have one server, and all the clients are using that server. If you are opening a doclink to a Notes Document, and there is a dramatic difference in the time required to open that link, the most likely explanation is network connectivity. If you have multiple servers in the different buildings, you could have a replica of the database on a server in the other building, which may help.
