How much memory can a logical Notes server make use of? I read somewhere that the Notes server cannot use more than 2 GB of RAM but I'm not sure if this is per logical server or per physical server. Therefore, if I have a server with eight GB of Ram and two partitions, will they share 2GB of the eight? Or will they use up to 4GB with each using 2GB?
Two GB is the limit noted by IRIS for R5. However, it works differently on Windows NT/2000 for partitioned servers. In your case, NT will allocate two GB for the first partition, leaving six GB. It will then allocate 50 percent of the remaining (up to two GB) for the next partition. It continues like that for all partitions. So, you can see that a server with several partitions can run into memory problems very quickly.
