Are resume objectives still important?

I'm writing a professional resume for the first time. Are objectives still important?


Much has been said about tailoring your resume for each ad or interview, including changing the objective to match the job. I recommend writing an objective that truly reflects what you're hoping to do or accomplish in your next position and sticking with it. Think about what will be important about your next position and write an objective that matches it. It may keep you from getting as many interviews, but it should make getting the right interview much easier.
