Q

How does view index building work?

How does View Index rebuilding work? If a database(which resides on a server) is opened from different clients, will the view index be rebuild on each client?
It depends on how the view index is setup in the DB. Usually, they are set to not be discarded. If that is the case, then once a view is indexed, it will remain indexed. After that, incremental indexes are performed by subsequent client accesses for the new/modified documents. This is usually not even noticeable in terms of performance.
