Q

Import data through a Web browser

I can import data using a Notes Client, however, I cannot figure out how to get this to work through a Web browser. We have dropped this project for Web access, as we could not get it to work.

Our setup works through the Notes Client and we followed the procedure as presented below posted on "SearchDomino.com":

This is from a search on "Import Data":

Any help you can send our way is greatly appreciated.

You must keep in mind importing data over the Web is vastly different that importing data using a Notes client... To import the data over the Web, you must get your file, whether, XML, XLS, CSV or whatever top the Domino server and then process the data. You could accomplish this by upload the file using FTP or by using an upload control in a form and then process the data into the database, probably as simple LotusScript agent could does this easily for you... When you use the File/Import menu option, the client does all the work, in this case, you going to have to do it yourself, but I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to accomplish you goal as I have built something similar to this.
