Is Domino partition server setup possible without selecting Domino partition server?

Can we have a Domino partition server setup without selecting Domino partition server during installation?
You could install multiple copies of Domino in various directories, but this is far from an ideal solution, since you would have to run them as programs. This is something I would only in testing. For production systems, you need to select the partition setup to make sure the registry and file paths are correct, as well as the resource allocations.
