I have a DSAPI filter that gets an authentication request. The Lotus Domino documentation claims that the FilterAuthenticate structure has only one out parameter (i.e., authType). But if I don't fill the authName variable, the Domino server does a basic auth challenge of the user name and password.

So is the authName also an out parameter? If so, what are the other out parameters in this structure?
I forwarded your question to the DSAPI experts at Looseleaf.net and here is the answer they returned: "Yes, you have to fill in the authenticated name of the user, too. The buffer is pre-allocated. Check the length field in the struct before filling it in."
