Is there any way of restoring a mail file with transaction logging so that only the messages receive

We are running Notes v5.12 on s390 platform with transaction logging implemented. We back up the logs every night and do a full backup of mail files twice a week with TSM.

Is there any way of restoring a mail file with transaction logging so that only the messages received are retrieved (i.e., with none of the deletions)? Therefore, a restore would contain all messages received by the user to the specific date and time.

No, not that I can think of. Transaction logs replay all of the transactions that were executed on a database. You cannot selectively eliminate transactions to replay. If you want to keep a database intact, you can either enable clustering but not allow the primary server to delete documents on the secondary server, or you could go to ND6 and use journaling to keep full records. Bear in mind, if you cluster and the clients failover, the database will look odd since nothing is deleted. Also, the databases will grow very large, so disk space could become an issue.
