Q

LDAP or eDirectory for Sametime and Domino

Can we use LDAP or eDirectory for Sametime and Domino, instead of Notes address book?
LDAP can be used as an alternative directory for Sametime (Lotus Instant Messaging - LIM) and Notes authentication.

There are a number of ways to configure Notes (and LIM) to utilize an LDAP directory as an alternate authentication source, including Directory assistance, which enables you to utilize your Domino Directory, in addition to an external LDAP directory server.

For instructions on configuring an external LDAP directory utilizing Directory Assistance, search the Domino Administrator Help Database for "Directory Assistance."

For detailed instructions on configuring your Sametime server to utilize an LDAP directory, consult the chapter "Using LDAP with SameTime," found in the Administrators guide.
