Sometimes the web isn't a beautiful thing. The Notes client gives us a much richer environment for development, but not to fear, there is a way around this. You can either program a Java applet to act like the Address Book dialog - a little out of my league, or you can implement the feature using JavaScript. Let's use the JavaScript solution since it has already been done and documented.

Head on up to http://www.notes.net and go to the Iris Today section. Scroll to the bottom and choose, by Author in the Archives section. Click Next a couple of time until you get to Karen Hobart. You'll see three articles that she wrote. Choose Part III. This article explains how to implement an Address Book dialog and Context Sensitive Help using JavaScript. The bonus part is there is already a demo database with all the code! Just download it and steal away! Although 3 years old, it is still relevant until someone writes a Java applet.
Hope this helps, good coding!
