What would you recommend for a Domino Web site that will be used by 50,000 users? The site will be straight http, no Notes mail, although smpt is turned on for custom emails sent by the application. Would you put all users on one powerful server or split them between different servers? What harware specs would you recommend? Any strategy or thoughts are appreciated.

This is a tough thing to spec out. You really need to determine your concurrent load, what the apps will do, what processing will have to happen on the fly, etc. I cannot offer you a solid number based on this information. You can look to www.notesbench.org for some guidance. I would probably split the load to a few clustered (ICM) servers if this is really mission critical. It really depends on what you need.
