Reference a value from a column in a view

I want to add a one column value to another column value. For example, I have a column value that is 50 and other column's values are 25 and 25. I want them to add in the column.

I assume you are referring to two columns in a view. The answer is that you cannot directly reference a value from a column in a view. This is because the value is calculated "on-the-fly" and not stored in a Notes document. The values, of course, are stored in a flat index file for fast view display, but we do not have access to the data in the view index file. You can use the formula from one column and add it to the formula of another column to get the same result with minimal impact performance-wise (for most operations). Here is an example:

If you have three columns with the following values,
(salary, bonus, total)
that contain the following formulae, respectively
(SalaryAmount, SalaryAmount*.10, SalaryAmount+(SalaryAmount*.10)

The result is that the third column, total, is displaying the sum of the first and second columns, salary and bonus.
