Q

Repair names.nsf file from Lotus Notes client

My names.nsf file is corrupt and using Lotus notes client on a Windows machine. Is there any way to repair names.nsf...

file from Lotus Notes client. If yes, how? Any help is appreciated.

There are two things you can try

  1. Notes / File / Database / New Copy. This can sometimes clear up corrupted documents as the new database is created.
  2. Domino Administrator / Files / Database / Fixup. You can do this with a local file.

Close the lotus note client. From a command prompt, navigate to your Data directory. Then enter the following:

NotesProgramDirectory\nfixup.exe names.nsf -F -J

Where "NotesProgramDirecotry" is replaced with the path to your Notes Program Directory (default is c:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes). Then, run the following with the same assumption:

NotesProgramDirectory\ncompact.exe names.nsf -c -i
