I'm running Lotus 6.5 with integrated Sametime messaging. Every time I receive a Sametime response I hear a sound. I cannot figure out how to shut it off. I have the stand alone Sametime client too.
This configuration is available in the Sametime preferences screen. You can access these preferences either through the Sametime connect client, or the Browser based Sametime client available from your Sametime Servers' (Internet) welcome page.

This option cannot be changed through the Notes "Instant Messaging" tab in the current location document, or Notes user preferences.

In addition, I would recommend logging out of any Notes-Based SameTime sessions before changing this option through the Sametime client.

Once you have the native Sametime or Browser chat client open and logged in change the notification option as follows:

  1. From the "Options" menu choose "Preferences."

  2. Under the "Alerts" tab, modify the options as required.

  3. Quit the connect client.

  4. Log into LIM through Notes.

Your alert preferences should now be applied.
