Q

Sending mail through Domino server with Outlook Express

This Content Component encountered an error

We have a Domino R5 mail server set up with Lotus Notes clients all on the LAN. My problem is this: I would like to use Outlook Express 5.5 with the Domino server on a few workstations. I have managed to get the POP settings right in Outlook, whereby the workstations can download their mail, but I can't send mail through the Domino server with Outlook Express. I have tried all the settings for SMTP Outbound control on Domino but nothing...

seems to work. Can you tell me what I am missing?

You didn't specify what errors you are getting, so this will be difficult to diagnose. Is the server listening on SMTP? Is it setup to allow connections from your users' IP addresses? Are you requiring authentication? I have made this work with Outlook Express before, so the problem has to be in your Domino or your Outlook configuration.
