In the past you were allowed to use the letters "CLP" after your name on a business card or other professional documentation, etc. How will that be perpetuated with the new certification titles? CLP is recognized as a formal professional title today.
Since the name IBM is already an abbreviation of International Business Machines, the marketing team does not allow an acronym that would include IBM. So while we cannot officially recommend a new acronym for you, we have noticed that many CLPs now call themselves IBM CPs. As this new program name becomes more well know, we are sure it will surpass the success of CLP. Remember that the program was just released on Aug. 1, 2003, and this will take some time.
