To send or not to send (return receipts)?

How do I give my users the ability to choose to send or not to send return receipts back to their e-mail senders? I thought if they have the choice, this could be one way of filtering spam e-mail.
You can't. If a return receipt is requested by the sender, the receipt will automatically be sent. With that said, users with local mail files can delete the return receipt from their local mail.box before sending mail if they wish.
