We plan to put an EMC SAN (Storage Area Network) in place in the coming weeks and migrate one of our Domino (R4.5.5) server's data to it. For database restore reasons we plan to limit volume sizes and therefore make use of directory links. i.e. 100GB of data and volume sizes of 36GB. Can you foresee any problems with this? Performance, Notes processes not working on directory linked databases?
Directory links work fine, but they can hinder performance. You will create a lot of I/O with this configuration, especially in a heavily utilized environment.
