Why can't iNotes and IE6 just get along?

I am in the process of testing Domino 6. We plan to upgrade our Domino server. My main concern is iNotes and IE6 interoperability.

I have read a plethora of issues on the Domino 5 forum and on the Domino 6 forum. No response from IRIS or Domino -- or Microsoft, for that matter. I have less than 1000 users, but a large majority of them use iNotes. These users are irritated, to say the least. I get a reported problem every single day.

Issues are happening with "fetching data" or replying to a message with an attachment. Any number of issues -- go the forum and search on iNotes -- there are plenty of interesting things to read.

What is going on? Why can't Domino and Microsoft get together on this and solve the problem? It is painfully apparent that there is some type of problem and the Domino reputation is getting a huge black eye.

I have only seen the fetching data issue with people using a custom DSAPI for the Domino HTTP stack. I use Domino 6 iNotes with IE 6 everyday. I don't have any issues with fetching data or attachments.
