For the first time in the U.S., THE VIEW will hold its annual Admin and Lotus Developer events at the same time and in the same venue. An estimated 1,000 IT professionals are expected to attend the eighth annual Admin event.

Admin2007 and Lotus Developer2007 will take place together at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston, Mass., from June 4 to June 6. A Jumpstart Day will be offered on June 3 as well.

With so many Lotus Notes and Domino IT professionals handling both the administration and development of Notes/Domino applications, it makes sense for THE VIEW to offer these annual conferences as a combined package this year.

What I always enjoy about THE VIEW conferences is that they aren't all pomp and circumstance. You're there to learn real-world technical advice that you can go back and implement right away in your existing Lotus Notes Domino infrastructure.

The Admin2007 sessions and Developer2007 sessions both offer Lotus Notes and Domino 8 tracks, but you're not going to be force-fed ND8 upgrade hoorah if it's not on your radar. Although Mike Rhodin, General Manager for IBM's collaboration technologies, will likely make ND8, Connections and Quickr the focus of his keynote address.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to attend this year, but SearchDomino.com Assistant Editor Matthew Gervais will be representing. Keep an eye out for him and share your thoughts about the conference and anything else that's on your mind. He'll be compiling a "best of Admin2007" podcast that we'll share with all of you the week after the conference -- kind of like the Lotusphere 2007 recap podcast we did earlier this year.

On a final note, if you're heading to THE VIEW conferences next month, I recommend that you check out some of my favorite independent presenters from last year: Chris Miller, Bill Buchan, Andy Pedisich and Rob Axelrod.
