The instant messaging ("chat") icon will disappear from the iNotes (Domino Web Access) system for a couple of reasons.
First, once you have DWA opened, choose the preferences link in the top right hand corner of the screen, select "other" from the navigator on the left hand side of the preferences screen, and ensure that the "enable instant messaging" check-box under the "instant messaging" heading is CHECKED.
Second, in your person document in the Domino directory, ensure that the Sametime (Lotus instant messaging) server specified has the hierarchical name of your LIM box. For example, if the DNS name is hub.world.com and the Notes name is hub/world, then the entry should say "hub/world." Since you already have the connection correctly specified, this should be able to connect to the LIM system.
These two items need to be correctly specified for an iNotes (DWA) user to see and utilize the chat functions.
