QUESTION POSED ON: 23 June 2004
I am developing an application that uses a Lotus Notes database for document storage, using the security feature of Domino. I am also using an application server as JBOSS for other business logic in it. Please let me know the draw backs of using this kind of architecture. Can I do the single sign-on facility that will avoid the authentication prompts? Also, can I leverage both the servers for maximum utilization? Thanks!

EXPERT RESPONSE
There's no reason why you can't engineer a configuration that would work well for both servers on the iSeries. I haven't run JBOSS on the iSeries, but it's a good application server. I have run the Jetty engine that it uses on the iSeries very well. It doesn't take as much resource for just the Web container as Domino does. I haven't done single sign-on between both, but I've done application integration for single sign-on (vs. EIM system level single sign-on) between Domino and Web application servers and that works fine.
