I would suggest taking a look at Lotus' compatibility schema for different releases of the extended products before implementing anything on the same machine.
I am aware of some Web sites that have raised issues with certain configurations of IM, QuickPlace and Domino running on the same machine -- thankfully our implementation runs smooth as silk. My recommendation would be to ensure that the installation and configuration of the extended products uses the Domino Directory for authentication, rather than LDAP, and everything should coexist without any problems.
