QUESTION POSED ON: 01 November 2004
Can I use LSXDB2 in a scheduled agent on AIX, Domino version 5? Is there a file like "LSXDB2.dll" for AIX machines?

>
Eee-gads! Working for IBM you really should know better.... Even if you can find the LSXDB2 driver for AIX or any other platform I strongly suggest that you do not use it. My understanding is that all system-specific data drivers like this -- DB2, MQSeries and SAP R/3 -- have been "end of lifed." You should instead use the Lotus Connector ("LC-") LSX and the DB2 Connector that comes with both Notes and Domino R5 and 6.x.

To check for the files, search your Windows workstation in the Notes program folder for ndb2.lcx (the "n" denotes the NT platform), and on the AIX server search the Domino program directory for db2.lsx (note: with Domino 6+ the file extensions are renamed to ".dcx"). You can find complete details on the DB2 Connector in the Lotus Connector and Connectivity Guide help database.
