QUESTION POSED ON: 21 November 2004
What, if any, issues do Administrators need to worry about with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance? My company has the audit pending. Can you recommend any sites for administrators regarding SOX compliance and Lotus Domino? Thanks.

EXPERT RESPONSE
Let me first say that I am not an attorney, and SOX compliance is something that you should worry about if your compliance officer says that it is an issue. In general, e-mail is considered a business record. If your company is exchanging e-mails regarding SOX initiatives, financial statements, compliance initiatives, etc., then you may have to do something on your Domino system. This normally requires some sort of archiving and retention policy. What this means to you is completely up to your attorneys and compliance personnel.
