QUESTION POSED ON: 07 April 2005

I wish to set up our Sametime server to control who can actually schedule an online meeting but allow anyone to attend (based upon meeting settings). How can I accomplish this?

>

The "SameTime Online Meeting Centre" database (stconf.nsf) is the application where Meetings created and stored. You cannot open this database through the Notes Client, but you can control the Database ACL, just as you would for any Lotus Notes application.

You can change the ACL through Notes Client, the Domino Administrator or Domino Web Administrator clients.

Changing the "Anonymous" access from "Author" to "Reader" will allow anonymous users to browse the meeting centre to review and attend meetings and force any user to log in to the server before creating a meeting.

If you do not want any unauthenticated users (i.e., casual web browsers)from reviewing the available meetings, change the "Anonymous" access to "No Access".

Further, if you only want certain authenticated users (i.e. those who have successfully logged in) to have the ability to schedule meetings, change the "Default" access again to Reader, and then add individuals (or even better, groups) to the stconf.nsf ACL with at least "Author" access to allow those selected users to create new meetings.
