QUESTION POSED ON: 20 June 2005
We're starting to Web-enable our Lotus Notes applications. One of our databases in server A has documents already viewable in Internet Explorer. I made a copy of the database (not a replica) in server B. The documents of the database in server B are no longer viewable in Internet Explorer.

When I checked the URL, the view and document IDs on the URL for both server A and B are the same (the only difference is the server). Shouldn't the document IDs already be different, since this is a database copy and not a replica? I'm thinking that this might be the reason why the documents are not viewable in Internet Explorer for server B. What do you think?

Actually, the Universal ID does not change when you create a database copy. But that is not the source of your problem.

The most likely source of the problem that you are experiencing is hard coding somewhere in the application. The other possibility is that the documents need to be edited/saved to recalculate some value that is relative to either the server or the database path.
