QUESTION POSED ON: 30 May 2006
I am planning a Lotus Domino upgrade from R5.0.3 to R5.0.11. I am planning to install Domino code and copy the data DIR Notes.ini and Server.id. Should I run Compact -B or Compact -C after the upgrade? Do I need to do an Updall -R?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
I would do the Compact -B and Updall -R, but the bigger question is, "Why aren't you moving to Domino R6 or Domino R7?" Domino R5 is at the end of its life. Unless it is for an application that cannot run on Domino R6 (rare), or if it's legacy and cannot be upgraded because of licensing, I can't think of a reason to still be on Lotus Domino R5.
