QUESTION POSED ON: 10 August 2006

I run a Lotus Notes 6.5 mail server. How can I stop incoming messages containing the word spam? Also, for space quota, what is the recommended limit for users' mailboxes?

I suggest reading the Domino Spam Survival Guide. I will point out, however, that most spam email does not contain the word "spam." The spammers are much smarter than that.

For mailbox quota, this is really up to you. How much disk space do you want to purchase, divided by the number of users? Do users typically get plain email, or lots of pictures and presentations? In the first case, you can make a much smaller quota than the second.
