QUESTION POSED ON: 15 February 2007
We are using Lotus Notes 5.11 and need to move our remote user mail databases to a new Lotus Domino server. Our current process involves sending an email to our users with a 'setup' button. This button creates a new connection document for the new server and changes the user's location document to point to the new server.

The problem we are having is on the replicator page. We can't find a way to change the Lotus Domino server to replicate through code. We are calling each user, stepping them through, and having them manually change the options for replication of their mail database on their own replicator page.

This is taking a great amount of time, since we have about 300 remote users. I'd like to know if there is a way in LotusScript to get to the replicator page to change the "replicate with server" option.

I don't know of one. That is the one page that cannot be gotten to via LotusScript, especially in Notes/Domino R5. If anyone out there has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

MEMBER FEEDBACK TO THIS ASK THE EXPERT Q&A:

Has anyone ever thought of using the mail move command in Domino? I have moved thousands of Lotus Notes users with it and it changes all necessary settings on the end user's machine. Granted, the Lotus Notes R5 version is not the easiest to work with, but it is functional.
