QUESTION POSED ON: 20 February 2007
Our Lotus Domino 5 mail server supports hundreds of R5.0.9a-12 clients. I have added an agent, a mail rule, and Resources/Other/Database Script code to the mail file template. I'd also like to push any and/or all of these elements to the clients transparently -- all workstation ECLs will accept the design element signer. I thought Refresh Design would fix the problem, but it doesn't. Do you have any suggestions?

Refreshing the design should have worked if the mail files are inheriting properly from the template you modified on the mail server.

That said, adding a rule to every mail file will add a significant amount of overhead to your Lotus Domino server. Processing every message that comes into every mail file will drastically increase CPU utilization.

If you are trying to do content management, the server-based rules in Lotus Domino R6 are far more efficient. An even better choice would be a third-party tool that allows you to easily customize the rules if needed.
