QUESTION POSED ON: 11 March 2002 We want to integrate a Prospecting/Opportunity Management application in Lotus Notes to a legacy Agency Management system that is a Pick database running on AIX. Specifically we are looking to push contact information from the prospecting system on-demand at the point of sale into the agency system and then keep the data in sync via a nightly batch process. We are looking for a "middleware" tool to facilitate this process. Do you have any recommendations?

I'm not even close to a Pick expert, but it looks like the D3 (D-cubed)
ODBC & DECS/LEI would work if the Domino app server is on the Win32 platform. DECS could be used for the "on-demand" push (configure DECS to perform an update to the Pick System when the Notes document is saved; requires a unique key from the Pick system) and LEI could be used for your nightly batch updates. If you are running your Domino server on AIX (or anything other than Win32) then your option appears to be MQSeries, which is true "middleware" (and can be very expensive). Lotus offers the MQSeries LSX that can be used to communicate with the MQSeries network. (If you're interested in finding out more about the MQSeries LSX let me know, as I have quite a bit of experience using it.)
