QUESTION POSED ON: 31 May 2002
In MS-Excel: Using Data ->get external data->new Web query, if we type the full URL of a view, "http://server/db/view?openview", we can collect data from any view (from Dominno server). But, in this case I have to type the URL and it is fixed. Is it possible that using an agent I could open an Excel file and pass the URL for a Web query as a parameter.

While I've never tried it, I don't see why not. You should be able to write an agent that uses COM to talk to Excel and automate this process. Alternatively, you could use the VBA capabilities in Excel to script this process or you could use something like VB to do this as well.
