QUESTION POSED ON: 20 February 2004
My company's IT department has announced that we will be converting from our current e-mail system "TAO" (an AS/400 based system) to IBM's Lotus iNotes on Domino.

I concurrently run Microsoft's Outlook 2000 on my laptop where I store all the e-mail I deem important. This I do because the TAO system does not provide offline storage. I have set my TAO mail to forward to an Internet mail address so that I am able to maintain my copies. Over the past several years I have stored tens of thousands of messages. Many of these are important records and cannot be simply discarded.

Enter my concern: I have not seen in my research of iNotes a utility that can be used to convert my outlook.pst files to iNotes format. Is this import/export action possible? Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, it's possible, but, as you indicate that you are using iNotes, your administrator would need to do this for you as your mail file is on the Domino server. There is a Notes client utility upgrade that you can use, or you can get a third-party utility -- Binary Tree has one that should do the trick.
