QUESTION POSED ON: 22 April 2004
We have an Access database that serves as a reporting tool for four Notes databases. Currently, it is linked to four local replicas in Notes R5, and works fine with the NotesSQL 2.06 driver.

We want to install the R6.5 client on new PCs, but can't do it because of problems with the NotesSQL driver. We cannot use the new driver (V3.02e) because it doesn't work when access permissions on the replicas are by means of groups, and we have too many users to use individual accounts. The old driver (V2.06) doesn't install properly with client R6.5 because it looks for a registry key from client version 4.0 or 5.0. Can you help, please?

This appears to be a product issue that should be addressed by IBM support. The first thing to do is to establish whether or not it's a known issue. That's your initial step towards a resolution. If it's not a known issue, IBM should identify it as such. Once the issue is acknowledged by IBM, ask when it will be resolved. Inquire as to whether there be a tactical patch made available, and in which release the issue will be formally addressed.
