Eclipse is an open-source software framework for delivering rich-client applications, as opposed to thin-client, browser-based apps. The IBM Workplace Client Technology client-side framework, a key component of IBM Workplace, is built on Eclipse. Because of the way Workplace Client Technology shares code and processing work between clients and middleware servers, organizations using WCT and the applications built on it will have the flexibility of client-side apps combined with the server-side control and cost savings associated with Web-based computing. Anyone interested in Eclipse will find this learning guide brimming with helpful pointers and useful links.
