The Lotus Domino Server software is installed -- but just as on Windows Server, you must perform a setup process the first time that Domino Server runs:
  1. Type exit to log out as root.

  2. Log back in as notes.

  3. Type startx to start the X Window System and the GNOME desktop.

  4. Open a GNOME Terminal session by clicking on the Computer icon in the lower-left and choosing the GNOME terminal.

  5. Within the terminal session, type cd /local/notesdata, then /opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server.

  6. Configure the Domino server as you normally would on any operating system.

  7. When configuration is finished, type exit to leave the terminal session.

  8. Click on Computer / Logout to leave the GNOME session.
