Transend releases new cc:Mail migration tool
Transend Corporation in Dallas has made available ConnectorWare Import Utility 4.2 for cc:Mail to Outlook/Exchange Migration. This new tool is the latest version of the utility for migrating Lotus cc:Mail users to Microsoft Outlook and Exchange. The tool imports cc:Mail Archives, Folders, Bulletin Boards, Address Books and Distribution Lists directly into Outlook/Exchange Folders, reducing the time required to deploy Exchange 2000 and minimizing the risk of lost data, the company said. It supports all versions of Outlook and Exchange, including Outlook 2002 and Exchange 2000.
The Transend tool has been used to migrate more than one million cc:Mail users throughout the world in organizations such as Hewlett Packard, Deloitte & Touche and Amoco. Lotus has announced it will stop support for cc:Mail on Oct. 31, 2001.
IT Factory releases new version of ITF Development Center for Microsoft
IT Factory Inc., a Boston-based supplier of knowledge technology solutions, has announced version 2.0 of ITF Development Center for Microsoft, the company's visual development tool for building collaborative applications on both Microsoft Exchange 2000 and SharePoint Portal Server. Microsoft developers can now instantly enable their application as an XML Web service with the ability to automatically generate a SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) interface with a single mouse-click, the company said.
In addition, version 2.0 of ITF Development Center introduces an MMC (Microsoft Management Console)-compliant administrative console to ease deployment, management and maintenance of enterprise applications. Pricing starts at $1,495 per developer.
VSI releases local European versions of its Notes fax products
VSI in Lake Forest, Calif., has made available in Europe localized versions of VSI-FAX 4.1 and VSI-FAX for Notes 3.0 products. VSI-FAX 4.1 automates back-office communications and runs on most Unix, Linux and Windows systems. The 4.1 release contains several enhancements, including the localized clients, a new Java-based Universal Fax Client, enhanced Outlook Fax client, updated SDK and support for Windows Terminal Server, Windows 2000 Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe.
VSI-FAX for Notes 3.0 supports both Brooktrout and Digi International fax boards. Companies in Europe currently using VSI-FAX for their fax communications include UniLever, Lufthansa and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
