AppDetective sleuths for Domino vulnerabilities
Application Security Inc., headquartered in New York, has announced the availability of AppDetective for Lotus Domino, an application security scanner designed to perform network-based penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
Already available for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, Application Security's new product uses a knowledge base of application-specific vulnerabilities to secure and protect Lotus Domino groupware and Web application servers. AppDetective locates, examines, reports, and helps fix Lotus Domino security holes.

Coolidge Development releases latest Server Audit Pro
Coolidge Development, a Notes and Domino software and services firm based in Boston, has released Server Audit Pro version 1.2.
Aimed at administrators and application developers managing databases on Domino servers, Server Audit Pro examines all the databases and/or templates on a server or servers, and creates a document listing all the database information and properties. Information is gathered from all servers and stored in one file, easing the process of finding orphaned mail files, unused or obsolete applications and information in large databases.

KMWorld and Intranets to collocate
Information Today Inc. of Medford, N.J. and Online Inc., based in Wilton, Conn., have announced that the KMWorld Conference and Exhibition and the Intranets Conference and Exhibition will be held together October 29-31, 2002 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
The combined event will feature seven conference tracks over three days and a single expo with more than 100 exhibits. This conference and expo on knowledge management, intranets and portals is designed for developing and evaluating enterprise-wide knowledge management strategies as well as for implementing collaborative intranet and portal strategies and technologies that meet organizational goals.

XML Global, Datalex strike reseller deal
New York middleware maker XML Global Technologies Inc. has signed a reseller agreement with Datalex Communications USA, Inc., an e-business services provider based in Alpharetta, Ga.
Under the terms of the agreement, Datalex will resell XML Global's products in combination with its BookIt! MATRIX product, a standards-based platform for communicating reservation, product and operational information for travel supply and distribution enterprises including airlines, hotels, car rental agencies and rail and ferry operators. The GoXML Transform Engine will be used to enable the conversion of legacy format messages, such as EDI, into XML formats, and the GoXML Message Service will be used to allow BookIt! MATRIX customers to exchange XML messages with trading partners using the Open Travel Alliance (OTA) specifications.

Lotus and Connectria collaborate with arctic explorers
Lotus Software has announced a partnership with Nomads Adventure & Education to foster collaboration between a team of Arctic explorers and a network of global K-12 classrooms. Throughout the 2002 calendar year, Nomads will use online collaboration software including Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace to share and document the sub-arctic region and the traditions of the Northern Ojibway and Cree people.
Over the course of the expedition, students will communicate with the explorers in Collaboration Zones, QuickPlace's Web-based collaboration areas. Using a Lotus Sametime moderated chat application, students will be able to ask questions of the explorers, as well as of each other, in real-time. Connectria, an IT outsourcing and hosting company based in St. Louis, will host the infrastructure for the collaborative activities and real-time discussions.
