Avocent launches SonicAdmin 4.0 for mobility

Huntsville, Ala.-based Avocent Corp.'s Mobile Solutions Group announced the latest version of SonicAdmin at the CTIA Wireless Conference in New Orleans. SonicAdmin enables network administrators to manage networks using a smartphone, PDA, BlackBerry or other mobile device. With version 4.0, they can manage Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino servers. SonicAdmin features integrations with selected third-party applications including TelAlert, NetIQ AppManager, Microsoft Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server and RSA SecurID. SonicAdmin 4.0 will be available in April 2005 for $249 per managed server, $2,000 for a 10 pack, and $7,500 for 50. Current SonicAdmin 3.1 customers with a valid maintenance agreement can upgrade to the new version for free upon release of version 4.0.

IBM and AT&T announce collaboration tool for SMBs

Cambridge, Mass.-based IBM and Bedminster, N.J.-based AT&T will jointly offer a team collaboration package for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to buy and deploy collaboration software with integrated Internet access capabilities. The new package, IBM Workplace Services Express with AT&T Managed Internet Service, will be based on IBM's Workplace Services Express, an "out of the box" collaboration tool with an integrated portal, and AT&T Managed Internet Service for Internet access.

Workplace Services Express provides team rooms, instant messaging, document management and an integrated portal that SMBs can share, organize and integrate information with employees, contractors and partners. The bundle is currently in pilot stage. It will be offered through local IBM Business Partners and AT&T Authorized Agents.

SWING Software releases DocPublisher for IBM Lotus Domino

Croatian company SWING Software announced the release of SWING DocPublisher, content publishing software for IBM Lotus Domino. SWING DocPublisher aims to simplify publishing of Office documents to corporate intranets and Web sites. It enables business users to distribute and maintain internal documentation, such as policies and procedures manuals, training materials and knowledge bases.

SWING DocPublisher is available starting at $995 for one server and one publisher license, which includes an unlimited number of readers. License packs and volume discounts are also available.

DLI.tools Inc. releases DLI.Uploader Professional Edition

Morristown, N.J.-based DLI.tools Inc., announced availability of the next edition of its Domino Web application file attachment management software. DLI.Uploader Pro is a hybrid rendition of its little brother, the DLI.Uploader. A Professional version is also available. The Pro edition supports multiple simultaneous Uploaders on a page, renaming files on the fly, uploading and downloading files programmatically without user interaction and dragging and dropping files between Web applications and desktops, Windows Explorer or Windows applications.

Proposion launches Report Adapter 1.0 for IBM Lotus Notes/Domino

Proposion, Inc., based in Salisbury, Mass., released Proposion Report Adapter 1.0, which extends Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services to integrate with Lotus Notes and Domino environments. This product makes any Notes database a data source with Reporting Services and also allows scheduled reports to be delivered via a Notes infrastructure. Proposion Report Adapter allows any Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services reportto be run automatically on the server and delivered to subscribers via native Notes Mail or deposited in a Notes database.

Proposion Report Adapter is now available for all Windows platforms that support SQL Server Reporting Services. The standard version of Proposion Report Adapter supports Notes and Domino Release 5 or higher locally and connects to remote Domino servers on any platform. Pricing starts at US $1,395.00 for a single processor Report Server and US $795.00 for Report Designer seats.
