TLCC, ToJava offer help for Java developers

The Learning Continuum Co.'s newest course, Introduction to WebSphere Using Rational Developer 6, teaches developers with basic Java skills to use Rational Developer 6 to create and test Java applications, Web pages, servlets and JavaServer Pages. After taking the course, developers should be ready for the certification exam to become an IBM Certified Associate Developer -- Rational Application Developer for WebSphere. The retail price is $599; a free demonstration version of the course is available online.

Meanwhile, ToJava Inc.'s QuickStart gives enterprises a full license to ToJava Technology 2.0 and five days of on-site training to assist those migrating Notes/Domino to J2EE. In training, developers carry a sample application from the beginning of the migration process (the porting of a Notes/Domino front end) to the end (the connection with back-end databases). In addition, ToJava Technology 2.0 includes a class library, a tag library and a converter that reads Notes designs and builds the corresponding J2EE application. The full license and training is available for $15,000.
