SearchDomino.com is pleased to announce the winners of its August/September 2005 tip contest: Amit Ashar and Sean Burgess.
Ashar's tip, Hide a Notes view column but retain ability to sort it is the first-place winner. The tip shows how to hide a view column in Notes but still use that column to sort, which Ashar said is especially useful for sorting dates. Usually once the view column is hidden a user can't process, or sort, the column, he said in his tip.
Second place also goes to the busy Ashar for his tip Overwrite Query Paste event in views. This tip lists the steps for pasting documents in a view even if there is a QueryPaste Event that stops it using "Continue = False."
Third place goes to Burgess for his tip Using AJAX as a replacement for @DBLookups. The tip explains how Burgess took the concept of having agents bring back HTML to change a Web page and reapplied it to bring back the same information he can get in an @DBLookup.
Both of these authors will be inducted into the SearchDomino Hall of Fame.
