Microsoft has announced the addition of an IBM Lotus Notes add-on pack for its Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2003 Web conferencing software.
According to Microsoft, with the Live Meeting add-on pack, a user will be able to perform Live Meeting Web conferencing tasks, such as scheduling meetings, using Lotus Notes, without logging into the Conference Center.
Users will also have the ability to check seat availability, display the Organize Meetings page and set default preferences for e-mail invitations, all directly from Lotus Notes.
Office Live Meeting is a PlaceWare Inc. product that was launched late last year as part of Microsoft's entrance into the world of Web conferencing. The software giant purchased PlaceWare in 2003.
Supported Platforms for the Lotus Notes add-in include Live Meeting 2003, Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Lotus Notes 5.x and 6.x.
The plug-in is available free of charge at http://main.placeware.com/support/plugins.cfm.
