These days, downloads are crucial tools for IT professionals. They serve as a litmus test for anyone who wants to try out software before spending money, they let companies showcase products still in beta form and they give IT pros a chance to share databases, applications or code with one another.
Chuck Connell, president of CHC-3 Consulting and the SearchDomino.com resident expert on Domino security and administration, offers a variety of downloads on his Web site.
Some of these downloads, listed below, have already been featured on our site and have proven popular with SearchDomino.com readers. Connell's other downloads include the following:
a Notes database that can automatically install (and uninstall) agents to another database;
a database that guides admins through a security compliance audit for the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act;
a tool for moving databases from an old server to a new, replacement server; and
a database that generates long, random passwords. "They are so difficult to type that users will want to change them immediately, which is what you want them to do," Connell writes.
