The readers field helps to manage access to a single document. The field contains names of all users authorised to open the document. The field can be fulfilled manually by the owner or automatically by the formula. For proper replication between servers, their names must be there as well. In many cases the field is fulfilled by the owner and usually he/she is the user without relevant knowledge about the Notes network. To solve this problem I add the second readers field ("SystemReaders") for the server names. Unfortunately I seldom know where the application will be installed. So, I put into the field only name of the role, "[Admin]" or "[Servers]" for example. Then the owner only matches server names in ACL with the role. Everything will replicate reliably, because when the document is saved, Notes creates one system field "$Readers" containing all user names, group names, server names and role names from all readers fields in the document.
