Notes Workstation Performance Tips

To keep your workstation tuned for optimal performance it is a good idea to periodically recreate the cache.dsk file and compact your workspace.

Please be aware that if you recreate the cache.dsk file you will lose any private views you may have.


CODE:
1) Recreate cache.dsk file.

a) Exit out of Notes.
b) In the notesdata directory rename cache.dsk to cache.old.
c) restart Notes.

2) Compact the Notes Workspace.

a) Go to the "old" Notes R4.x workspace. (From the Bookmarks bar - Databases
- Workspace).
b) Right mouse click on an empty part of the workspace and click on
Workspace Properties.
c) Click on the "beanie" tab and click on Compact.

By periodically doing the above it will ensure that your Notes Client will always be working at an optimal level.
