Database subscriptions AKA Headline Monitoring can bring a server to it's knees!
In Lotus Domino 5.0 and higher users are brought to a welcome page. One of the features users can enable is Subscriptions to the databases they use day to day. One of our customers enabled subscriptions to the databses and rolled it out to all of the end users. From that day forward the domino servers were crashing every morning and several times daily. When the servers were not crashing they were operating at 100% CPU every 15 minutes, and that locked the users out.
We disabled subscription on the databases and the the server problems stopped!

Code

How to disable subscriptions against databases.
Select the database from the workspace
Go to the Databases Properties ( File Databses Properties)
Go to the last tab ( The Beany Cap Tab)
and put a check mark in the "Don't allow Headline Monitoring" END OF PROBLEM!
