Having both Lotus Notes Client and the Domino Administrator client can take up a great deal of system resources on your PC. I have a tendency to need the Administrator client more for my work than the Lotus Notes client, and basically only use it to check my mail.
I like to have my mail database open, and you can do that in the Adminstrator client, but the only way I found apparent was to go through File-->Database-->Open, and then wade through the hefty directory structure we have for databases on the mail server to find my mail database and open it.
Because of this, I started looking into code that would allow me a quick and easy access to my mail database while in the Domino Administrator client. I settled on an @Command placed into a smart icon.
This little convenience is very simple to implement. Open your smart icons. Scroll to the bottom under Available icons on the left, and pick one of the Macro Buttons. Drag it over to your Smart Icons on the right under Universal. Once it is in place select the icon you just moved over to the Universal window and select the EDIT ICON button on the right. Type in whatever description you want for your mail file name, and then select the Formula button. Copy the following code into that window and select done.
That's it, and now your mail database (or any other you choose) is just a one touch button away in your administrator client, even when you are doing something else and can't get to the Files tab of your Admin Client.

You could also get clever and look in the current location doc for the server and filename if you wanted to get flashy!
But I thought, Hang on a moment, there's already a way to do this without all the file/open polava!
Why not just use the mail icon that's at bottom right of all of the clients - and select "Open Mail" from the pop up

I know it's two clicks instead of one (for a SmartIcon) but I'm going for the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid - me, not you!) of solving the problem!

Open your mail file using File-->Database-->Open in the Administration client. Once the database is open click and drag the inbox tab to the bookmark bar. Bingo, a bookmark to your inbox. Easy as that. No code needed.

At first glance this might seem to be a useful tip but it isn't really
necessary. In all three clients (Notes, admin, designer) you have the status
bar at the bottom of the screen. Clicking the little envelope icon brings
up a pop-up menu where you can create a message, scan unread mail, open
mail, etc. Why reinvent the wheel?

There are different results from the code provided above. Some users may not want to force-open the Notes client and remain only inside the Admin client. Both codes 1
and 2:
do this. Whereas code 3 and the Open Mail option (status bar) will force the Notes client to open, thus defeating the purpose of this smart icon option.
