Name change partially successful...how to fix ID

A user's name change is only partially successful. The ID file for the user still contains the old/erroneous name. This tip explains how to correct the name on the ID file.

Code

Get a copy of the id file and the password.

Switch to the user's id
Do File...tools....userid
Click MORE OPTIONS and CHANGE NAME
Enter the correct name
All certs will be stripped, but that's ok

Now switch back to an admin id
Recertify the user's id file

Examine the id and get a copy of the public key

Copy the public key into the public name and address book/directory

Provide the user with the newly recertified id file with the correct name!

The user will not be able to open any previously encrypted mail and any special encryption keys will need to be reapplied.
