This fix is only for R5 design mail files only!!!

Not sure if this was posted already. I know there are plenty of corporations that do not know about this.

Are you tired of your user community accidentally deleting their mail files off the mail server because they are Managers in their ACL's? If so, here is a solution that will do away with that headache and minimize your restores of deleted mail files.

Change all user's ACL to Designer from Manager. You can probably do this with an agent. In addition, update your ADMIN4.NSF ACL by adding your OU as People Group with Depositor access. This will make sure they can still Delegate both mail and Calendar.

By simply changing them to Designer will cause an AdMINP error when the user attempts to delegate in their mail files.

Heads up!

If you are one of those Admins that allow the users to perform all modifications in Replication Settings. By doing this change, your users will not be able to make changes in Replication Settings! It will be greyed out.

Code

You can create an agent that will change anyone's name in their ACL's from Manager to Designer.
